Unmasking The Celebrity Candidate

The following is an article that I wrote a few days ago for my wife’s blog.

This morning I was listening to a radio talk show when I heard a caller tell the host about a book he “wanted to write” about Barack Obama. It seems to me that there is a growing desire on the part of both the “average man” and some in the media to unmask Barack Obama. I think it is akin to what happens of most celebrities when they become too big too quickly. Consider a few names — Michael Bolton, Barry Manilow, Kenny Gee, Enya, Britney Spears, etc. Their tremendous popularity was followed by a period when it became “cool” to hate them.
I think that Barack Obama’s celebrity will suffer a similar fate. The question is, will people realize he is an empty suit quickly enough to spare our country the disaster of an Obama presidency?
