Tank of Gasoline? $70 - Congressman? Priceless

Posted on August 9, 2008

I just spent $70 to fill my gas tank.  Can someone remind me what Congress is doing right now rather than working on energy policy?  Oh, thanks Uncle Jay…

BallotpediaWhile you are out surfing the web, why not go to a site with “real” information rather than more ho hum recapitulations of whatever the talk-show gurus are talking about?

I encourage you to check out Ballotpedia.org.

What is Ballotpedia?

“With your help, Ballotpedia aims to be an abundant and growing source of information on citizen initiatives, ballot access, petition drives, initiative and referendum for political change, recall elections, school district bond issues and associated subjects.

Ballotpedia is an important tool for those who desire to stay informed, and to take action to preserve what is great about our country while working for an even better tomorrow.  As the Ballotpedia promotional material points out, “there’s no other webstie that strives to be encyclopedic in providin accurate, fair, and comprehensive information about ballot access and ballot measures.”  Check it out.

Blogivists.com

Several weeks ago I had the privilege of attending the Defending the American Texas Summit in Austin.  While there I became aware of the new Blogivists network of conservative bloggers.  I am now proud to be part of the Blogivists network and encourage other conservative political bloggers to join the effort.

The Blogivists website includes the following defintition:

Blog · iv · ist [blaw-guh-vist] n. One who isn’t satisfied with merely writing something, one who does something. Blogivists.com is a community of bloggers dedicated to advancing the cause of free-markets and individual liberty. There are plenty of blogging platforms available to those who simply want to write. Blogivists.com is for those who want to advance a cause. This is the only site offering free personalized blogs to anyone who is motivated by the cause of liberty.”

Interested?  Check out Blogivists.com for details on how to set up your own free blog.  It took me all of about 3 minutes.

The great thing about Blogivists is that it gives you an opportunity to express your thoughts in a forum where people care, to extend your influence beyond a common ideology and into the marketplace of ideas, and to stay informed because you are part of a network of people who stay informed.

Again, I encourage you to check out Blogivists.com.
